The Steampunk World

Being the continued explorations of a living steampunk.

The steampunk world is all around us, lying just out of sight, in a continuous thread of steampunk builders and culture that extends from the Victorian era to the present. You'll find no science fiction here: This is real life steampunk.

Okay, here's the plan: I fly to Ghana to unpack that container. I help the folks there fix up the bikes and get them distributed. Then I begin a series of cargo conversions, with a focus on teaching how to do them. I'll have some funds available to spend on things like angle iron or bike tools or whatever they really really need. I'll also probably teach literacy, computer literacy, bike mechanics, and how to ride bikes.

I asked XAccess for schematics and they said they'd send me some xtracycles! So there's that to do as well.

Then we have this crazy scheme about welding two shipping containers together and making schools out of them. Saves the community the cost of getting it back to port.

Then I dust off my hands and go to Europe for a while, to visit the Rat Patrol UK and the World Tallbike Convention in Amsterdam.

The Telephase art show was held at my friends Dannie Danger and Marga-Rat's house, which is a bar. They had chrysalis snaks! Little chrysalids in a ginger and onion sauce, from the Korean market. They tasted just like a moth had flown into your mouth. I was happy to be able to eat bugs, though. They were so nasty I had a dozen of them.

Saw Jimi Hendrix's penis at a Plaster Caster show. Oh my lord! Fattest one in her collection, she says. I believe it. It looked like a damn stack of tires.
