I've spent the last year or two learning the art of chopping bikes. I traveled to the south to learn to weld, and to the north to learn to chop. So when Osei, the guy in Ghana who receives bikes from Working Bikes, asked the coop, " How can we do tricycle conversions?" I was one of a very small crowd involved in the program who was actually interested in that sort of thing.
I said, "
here are some ways you can make bikes carry cargo"
and he said, "Great, when can you travel?"
and that was basically how it went. So it appears that I am soon heading to
Patriensa, Ghana, to do just that to the 400 bikes that left in a container a few Saturdays ago. I'll try to stay until May.
