The Steampunk World

Being the continued explorations of a living steampunk.

The steampunk world is all around us, lying just out of sight, in a continuous thread of steampunk builders and culture that extends from the Victorian era to the present. You'll find no science fiction here: This is real life steampunk.

A quick jaunt to Ohio to marry some old friends. Been eating a lot of "cinci-style chili", which is more like a mole if you ask me. Have become obsessed with Northern State.

Back home, another build day awaits, along with yet another bike-themed art show (or two). I've also been working at the scrapyard with Working Bikes, and they say they'll even pay me for it. I'd always heard that phrase, do what you love and the money blah blah, but I never really believed it. I always thought it was the extremely fortunate who get paid to do what they love, and the rest of us go to work for 8 hours in order to enjoy the other 16. But when I quit my job, I just started doing what was fun to do, and a few months later, I'm making a living at it. Try it at home, kids!

Somebody told me that Noam Chopsky was mentioned in the latest issue of Chicago Magazine. Haven't gotten a copy yet, though. Rat bikes everywhere!
